Improbable because I don’t think that many CEOs in the city are using Macs…

And needless to say, they weren’t using VNC, they were using magic. But that doesn’t bother me so much, that’s just TV…

How so improbable? You can get VNC clients for iPhone/iPod Touch and it’s relatively easy to set up VNC open port on a Mac in the background, if you get access to it.

What if you are not on automatic and you have this problem? I have it on the specified name of the wireless location but I cannot log into the iTunes store.

There was this guy see.
He wasn’t very bright and he reached his adult life without ever having learned “the facts”.
Somehow, it gets to be his wedding day.
While he is walking down the isle, his father tugs his sleeve and says,

“Son, when you get to the hotel room…Call me”

Hours later he gets to the hotel room with his beautiful blushing bride and he calls his father,

“Dad, we are the hotel, what do I do?”

“O.K. Son, listen up, take off your clothes and get in the bed, then she should take off her clothes and get in the bed, if not help her. Then either way, ah, call me”

A few moments later…

“Dad we took off our clothes and we are in the bed, what do I do?”

O.K. Son, listen up. Move real close to her and she should move real close to you, and then… Ah, call me.”

A few moments later…

“DAD! WE TOOK OFF OUR CLOTHES, GOT IN THE BED AND MOVED REAL CLOSE, WHAT DO I DO???”

“O.K. Son, Listen up, this is the most important part. Stick the long part of your body into the place where she goes to the bathroom.”

A few moments later…

“Dad, I’ve got my foot in the toilet, what do I do?”

If I could kiss you right now I would. This fixed not only my iTunes Store issue but fixed the reason why my internet connection was slow all together!. I thought my new router was a POS and wanted to return it.. now the sites that would take forever to load, load right up, right quick.

Thanks for the suggestion. I don’t have hardware GPS and was anxious about the fiddliness of bluetooth GPS dongles. Will look into it… But given cost of CoPilot + Bluetooth + Dongle… wouldn’t standard, purpose built, big-screen GPS make more sense?

I’d recommend sticking Copilot on your phone. It’s a damn fine piece of GPS software, and with the current cost of memory cards, an 8GB card (more than enough for all of EU and NA) isn’t that bad.

It’ll work with internal GPS hardware or bluetooth GPSes, too.

Thanks Ed. No idea how to tune the HDD spin - any tips? The CPU freq - doesn’t that automatically clock down when you switch onto battery power?

I still think I’ll need a six cell battery, especially once I get some form of mobile broadband dongle… there’s just not the life in it that I need, even with tweaks!
